Additional Information: These two chisels come from the descendants of a miya-daiku in the Kansai region. After sharpening them, I discovered they were forged from watetsu and tamahagane. With the help of Mr. Tsuchida, we confirmed that they are the work of a Kansai blacksmith from the Edo period. They bear the distinct characteristics of Edo-era chisels: the laminated steel (ha-gane) is relatively short and does not extend all the way to the neck like modern chisels do. Additionally, the komi (tang) features the earliest quadrangular pyramid shape.
