Please refer to another item description for details about this perforated Chip Breaker.
Compared to the blade of this plane, I place a higher value on its dai (the wooden body):
A long body plane made of a rare wood - Hiiragi(柊). The scientific name of wood is:Osmanthus heterophyllus.
This wood rarely has large pieces. It is far less common than Japanese white oak and red oak.
But in this post, Chiyozuru Korehide said that this is the best wood for Kanna Dai.

The hiiraki wood shared in Tsuchida‘s post has the content recorded by Chiyotsuru Korehide. I wrote this part of the text on the last picture.
The content means:
This piece of wood comes from the hiiraki tree in the Murata Yoshibei Garden, made in 1951
This tree is also known as “松谷樹巴天戟”
The flowers are white and the fruits are black.
In the upper left is written “台に用最上”, meaning the best wood for the wood plane body.
