Additional Information: Unused, in good condition. It comes from the collection of a retired carpenter in the Tokyo area. There is some rust on the top of the chisel blade, which can be easily removed through sharpening. The mark of the Tokyo Chisel Smith Guild has early characteristics.
This chisel is likely a mid-career work of the blacksmith. The two sides of the blade are concavely treated by hand tool - "sen".
This chisel was produced later than the previous piece by the same blacksmith. Certain characteristics indicate a shift in the blacksmith’s shaping and polishing tools during this period; for instance, a finer file was used, as evidenced by the much more delicate file marks on the neck compared to his earlier work. Overall, it remains an nice and practical Tokyo Mukomachi chisel.
